Liner Notes:

Would you believe it? Thriving industrial center Leverkusen, equally well known for its chemicals and its successful Olympic athletes, vibrating with the sounds of its very own hard rock bands, tapping its feet to the catchy rhythm of home-made dixieland, disco-dancing to live funky sounds? It's all here on this record and what you hear is only part of the story.

It all began way back in the days when rock n' roll first reached these shores. Everywhere in schools and youth clubs, in cafe bars and in the basements of their homes the young got together making their music. Some did it simply to enjoy themselves and to break free from their everyday routine. Others tried to express their feelings. Some of them had high hopes for a career.

They never looked back. The movement has been growing ever since. For those who dropped out, others picked up their instruments. The Leverkusen music scene in 1977 outshines the towns nearby. Creativity is an essential part of it. Far from simply playing current hits and endlessly re-playing old standards, many of these musicians are working on a style all their own. They are of different ages and musical interests. There are some rough edges to their performances, but after all, they're not professionals. Folk guitars and rock drums, jazz trumpets and blues vocals, are putting together the multi-colored sound picture that is Leverkusen's living music scene. Naturally it reflects the changing musical trends. So there'll always be something new to listen to.
