The Best Dance Album II is a fantastic release, and much like the first volume we're given the best dance anthems between '87 to '93. It was released later in 1993, the same year as the first edition but how does it compare with the original? In my personal opinion, it is better in terms of the overall quality of all 42 hits presented. Where the first disc in part one was a masterpiece, the second was quite disappointing and a B grade experience. Many hits should not have been included, and it became a filler disc in certain areas.Part II however, while the first disc is outstanding and highly memorable, the second is a virtual tie in terms of the overall quality, if not slightly better. We're given amazing inclusions on disc one such as Snap's Rhythm Is A Dancer, the Technotronics, Cappella's U Got 2 Know, Urban Cookie Collective's famous I've Got The Key, The Secret, KLF, The Shamen, SWV, Soul II Soul's best hit Keep On Moving and a nice end with PM Dawn's Set Adrift On Memory Bliss. The second disc includes perhaps more memorable hits, like Yazz's The Only Way Is Up, Sabrina Johnston's Peace, Sybil's When I'm Good And Ready, Inner City's Good Life, Bass-O-Matic's Fascinating Rhythm, U.S.U.R.A, Beats International's Dub Be Good To Me, Stereo MC's Step It Up, Bomb The Bass and the amazing hit Regret by New Order to end it. Both CD's are worthy of 5/5 stars despite the fact that there are a couple of duds here and there. It is a highly fabulous experience and you would be missing a lot without it!
